Founded in 1200, the old village boasts cobblestone lanes lined with hollyhock, traditional half-timbered houses, and popular beaches. After a brief orientation, enjoy free time to explore on your own. Highlights include the town museum, housed in the former 18th-century Town Hall, and the Glass Museum. View the historic steam frigate "Jylland," a survivior of Denmark's 1864 war with Prussia and Austria. Browse for hand-blown glass, souvenirs and traditional crafts. Then board your motorcoach for a scenic drive through the surrounding area of Mols National Park. Bronze Age burial mounds dot the moors and impressive views near the 5000 year old megaliths of Poskaer Stenhus over the Aarhus bay and the Ruin of Kalo can be relished. Return to the ship following your scenic drive.
