Whether you're a seasoned wine enthusiast or a complete novice, a tour of a winery is the ideal way to discover the subtle and complex flavors of Montengrin wine. What better way to learn than with a visit to Plantaze Winery, which produces over 95% of the country's wine. Established over 50 years ago, the winery stretches out over 2,310 hectares (5,708 acres) and houses three wine cellars with a capacity of 33 million liters (8 million gallons), a rootstock nursery, a peach tree grove, and a fish pond. After your hour-long drive from Bar, you'll disembark and tour the vineyard where row upon row of of Krstac, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc grapes flourish in the dry, mountainous, Montenegrin landscape. Following the tour, you'll be invited into the unique Sipcanik wine cellar, situated 100 feet underground, for a wine tasting accompanied by local products before heading back to Bar.
