Follow the path of the ancient Mayans who believed that the rain god Chaak lived in natural wells and sinkholes called cenotes. After a short ferry ride to the mainland, enjoy a bus drive through the Mayan Riviera to an ancient Mayan cenote sanctuary. During the day, you'll visit four cenotes. A jungle walk along the "Original Mayan Water Trail" takes you to the first cenote named "La Cueva," due to its spectacular natural arch. Hop back onto the path to the second cenote, known as "Centote Kay," one of the few cenotes with stalactites. Next, is the amazing "Gran Cenote Azul," named for its clear blue water color, and cool temperature. Hop on to your final stroll to the fourth cenote named "Cenote Naval," which measures 1,640 feet in diameter. You will traverse this natural wonder in your own canoe, admiring the surrounding exotic flora and fauna.
