Venture into a fantasy land of caverns connected by underground waterways. Secret River is home to incredible natural formations like stalactites and stalagmites and you can walk and wade through the .37-mile-long route (600 meters). When you arrive, you'll receive a comprehensive safety briefing before donning a wetsuit, water shoes, life jacket and helmet outfitted with a headlamp. Your expert guide will outline the cultural and natural importance of this underground world and it's crystal clear waters as you enter the caverns and marvel at this unique natural treasure that went unexplored for millions of years! Learn how the ancient Maya used these caves for ritualistic purposes. You can walk or wade in the underground cavern with your guide by your side. A Mexican regional buffet is served before returning to Playa del Carmen for some free time to shop.

Minimum age to participate is 5 years old, maximum weight allowed is 250 pounds. Guest must be in good physical condition and able to walk up to one and a half hours through the water. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a hat, a dry change of clothes, cash/credit cards and reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen (no other kind of sunscreen is allowed in the water). To avoid sunburn, bring light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Watches, jewelry, photo and video cameras are not allowed inside the caves. The water temperature is about 23C or 73F but a wetsuit is provided! The photo service at the venue is not affiliated with or provided by the cruise line. Any photos purchased from this service will be the passengers' responsibility. Electronic devices are not allowed in the cave. Once participants join their tour, they will be required to complete a liability waiver. The ride to the site will be bumpy.
