Explore Hue, pronounced 'hway', a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the former imperial capital of Vietnam. A 90-minute motorcoach drive takes you to the impressive Citadel, the home of the imperial family until the mid-1900s. Stroll the extensive grounds and structures, including a moat and an inner fortress called the 'Forbidden City'. Next, visit the Thien Mu Pagoda where Buddhist monks going about their routine in this ancient wooden structure built in 1601. Lunch at a hotel restaurant is followed by a short drive to a beautiful pine forest, which reveals Tu Duc Tomb. Tu Duc was the longest-reigning emperor of the Nguyen dynasty, and his tomb is the largest and most luxurious in this area. Your day concludes at the 'Hat Craft Village', where local artisans hand craft traditional conical hats out of leaves. They make unique souvenirs! Relax on the motorcoach ride back to port.
