Eden's Killer Whale Trail is a trail rich with whales and tales of adventure. Your tour today will take you to two of the most significant sights as you uncover the dramatic history of whaling from 1828-1930 and learn about the unique relationship between whalers and the wild killer whales (orcas).
Begin with a visit to the Eden Killer Whale Museum where you will discover the legend of Old Tom. In the 1920s and '30s Twofold Bay and the area around Eden were home to a group of killer whales led by a large whale known to locals as Tom. Learn more about this fascinating story whilst enjoying the fine views of the bay from the gallery.
Next it is on to the Seahorse Inn at Boydtown where the relationship between man and wild orca was first born on the white sands of Boydtown beach. The Thaua People performed rituals and dances to call and honer the killer whales their brothers or 'beowas'. Enjoy a morning tea here before returning to your ship at Eden.
