The Falklands may be a paradise for penguins but its wind-swept terrain and long, sandy beaches also play host to sheep farms like Fitzroy Farm. During this half-day excursion, you'll be immersed in the everyday duties of farm life and learn how modern techniques have increased productivity and economic growth. From the pier, it's just a short drive to Fitzroy Farms where you'll meet farm manager Gilberto, his partner Suzi, plus Fitzroy residents who will answer questions about life and farming in the Falklands. Take a walk to the pen and watch working dogs herd sheep into a shed for shearing and discover how the wool is handled from shearing to market. View the polytunnels and vegetable gardens, and watch animals being fed. At midday, enjoy a break known as a smoko and savor homemade scones and pastries in the Settlement Hall followed by a chance to shop for souvenirs.

特記事項:

If weather is incumbent for outdoor activities, hens, sheep, miniature horses can be brought into the hall for viewing. Over 980-foot walk from Settlement Hall to polytunnels/vegetable gardens.
