Go for a swim in waist-deep water and discover friendly white southern stingrays at Stingray City, a group of sandbars located 25 miles off the shore of Grand Cayman. The water surrounding the sandbars are pretty shallow, which makes it ideal for kids of all ages to join in the fun. From the pier, you'll board a vessel that will transport you to the sandbar. About 25 minutes later, you'll disembark and meet an experienced guide who will instruct you on how to handle the stingrays. As you enter the clear three- to four-foot-deep waters of their natural habitat, the graceful southern stingrays will glide tranquilly around you. These giant sea creatures are so used to humans, that they will allow you to feed them, play with them, pet them, and take pictures with them. Then, you'll return to town for time on your own.
