Enigmatic Georges Island is a hidden gem within Halifax Harbour. For centuries it has been shrouded in a rich tapestry of history and folklore and for nearly 200 years played a pivotal role in military activities. Georges Island is also home to one of Canada's oldest lighthouses, originally constructed in 1876.
