Witness the inspiring beauty of Helsinki's archipelago from a different perspective-from the seat of an RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat). After meeting the captain at the pier, you'll don safety gear, climb aboard and cruise along the beautiful shoreline past popular sites such as the Open Air Market, the impressive icebreaker fleet docked for the summer, the UNESCO-designated Suomenlinna Island Fortress and through the narrow strait, called "Kustaanmiekka." Then hang on as the captain revs the engine and heads out into the azure waters of the scenic archipelago. Zooming over the waves, you'll pass large and small islands and view Finnish summer homes, some dating to the 19th century. Stop to stretch your legs for a while, before heading out on the water again. During your tour your captain will tell you about the local history and the Finnish way of life.
