"Look up" might be the command of the day on this fascinating adventure with lunch that includes the towering Ushiku Buddha, Mt. Tsukuba Shrine, and a cable car ride to the top of Mt. Tsukuba for panoramic views. A scenic motorcoach ride brings you to the almost 400-foot-tall (120-meter) statue of Buddha, one of the tallest bronze Buddhas in the world according to "The Guinness Book of Records." The extraordinary scale of the statue is complemented by the Japanese gardens that encircle the base. Step inside to discover five floors of exhibits, as well as a model of the thumb of the statue and 3,400 golden Buddha statuettes. Pause for lunch, then continue to picturesque Mt. Tsukuba Shrine, serving as a place of worship for over 3,000 years. Climb aboard the cable car and ride to the top of Mt. Tsukuba for panoramic vistas of Mt. Fuji, if the weather permits. Return to port after this memorable day.

Shoes must be removed at a local restaurant and inside of Ushiku Buddha. Photography is prohibited at some areas at Ushiku Buddha. This tour includes approximately 15 to 20 minutes of walking from Mt. Tsukuba Shrine to the cable car station and also walking from the parking to the Buddha for 10-15min. The view from the top of the mountain/Buddha is weather dependent. The cable car might not operate due to the bad weather. Japanese yen are needed for additional purchase. Tour order may vary.詳細
