What you will visit:
Evening at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary
Most of the animals at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary are nocturnal or crepuscular, meaning they are most active at dusk and dawn. This fascinating evening visit offers the opportunity to observe some of Australia's most famous natives, such Tasmanian devils, wombats, kangaroos and wallabies, and to participate in the feeding of dinner to these delightful animals. Additionally, you'll come face to face with animals that are not active during daylight hours, including bandicoots, sugar gliders, tawny frogmouths and more. A naturalist guide is on hand to answer questions, and you'll have the chance to interact with many of the animals.
What you will see along the way:
Founded in 1804, Hobart is the second oldest capital in Australia. Originally a penal colony, the town has many historic buildings in the wharf area that were built by convict labor. Once a major whaling and sealing port, Hobart is still an important shipping center and acts as a gateway to Antarctica. Its historic waterfront district is a major attraction. This picturesque city winds along both banks of the Derwent River, with Mount Wellington serving as a majestic backdrop to this lovely town.
