港からバスで約1時間30分ドライブし、指宿へ向かいます。最初に訪れる薩摩伝承館では、日本の伝統美と薩摩の歴史や文化の名品や逸品を展示しています。地元レストランでランチをいただいたら、指宿の有名な砂風呂に挑戦しましょう。浴衣をまとい、横になって全身を火山性の温かい砂に覆ってもらいます。10分程温まったら、シャワーを浴びて温泉に浸かりましょう。港への帰り道、池田湖に立ち寄り、薩摩富士と呼ばれる開聞岳を眺めを楽しみます。
