Board your coach for the short drive to Senganen (Iso Garden), designed during the 17th century. This formal garden offers views of Sakurajima and Kagoshima Bay (weather permitting). The grounds include a mansion and the Shoko Shuseikan Museum. The museum is housed in the first Western-style factory ever built in Japan. Today the museum chronicles over seven centuries of Shimazu clan history. Continue to Ishin Furusato-kan - the Museum of the Meiji Restoration. A lot of historical articles are displayed to understand this history deeply. Your final destination is the Terukuni Shrine, dedicated to the 28th lord of Satsuma, Shimazu Nariakira. Fascinated by Western learning and technology, Nariakira was instrumental in ending Japan's policy of seclusion from the world. Following your visit, board your coach for the return to ship.
