Luxuriate in a leisurely three-hour float on the turquoise waters of the Kenai River and into the heart of the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. A great family tour, you'll all enjoy the solitude and serenity, far from the crowds as an experienced guide leads you on an 11-mile float trip the Kenai River, surrounded by Kenai Mountains. Keep your cameras handy - the Refuge is home to Alaskan brown bears, bald eagles and salmon. You may also see black bears, coyotes, porcupines, weasels, snowshoe hares and the ever-elusive lynx. And keep an eye out for moose; reaching heights of up to 7 1/2 feet at the shoulder and weighing up to 1800 pounds, Kenai's moose are the largest herbivores in North America. There are plenty of birds in the Refuge, such as great horned owls, spruce grouse, hairy and downy woodpeckers and boreal chickadees.
