On the scenic route through the Elqui Valley to Vicuna, experience a kaleidoscope of enticing colors and shapes, aromas and tastes plus history and culture too. Your adventure begins in Coquimbo as you tour along the coastal promenade toward La Serena to see the lighthouse that has become a symbol of the city. Continue towards Elqui Valley, a geographic configuration unique in the world as a fertile strip of land in the middle of an Andean mountainous desert. This place has the clearest atmosphere in the world, especially for astronomic purposes. Driving along the valley, pass by typical villages such as Algarrobito, El Molle, and El Tambo. Visit a Pisco distillery, where you will learn about the making of this potent brandy produced and bottled in the region followed by a tasting. In the picturesque town of Vicuña, see the Mistral Monument commemorating the lifework of Nobel Laureate Gabriela Mistral. You will have time to visit the main square as well as view Bauer Tower and Vicuña's church.
