Wine aficionados will enjoy a pleasant half-day exploring the notable vineyards of Lanzarote, which produce unique artisan wines from volcanic soil. Board your motorcoach and head south gazing out the window, and watch the dramatic, rocky landscapes go by. As you travel, you'll stop at Monumento al Campesino, the Peasant Monument, created by Cesar Manrique. Your first destination is Bodega Rubicon, which produces the Malvasía grapes. Here, you'll enjoy a tasting of different wines. Continue on to La Geria, an agricultural area so unusual it has been designated 'land art' and a protected natural landscape. Wind your way down narrow roads bordered by lava fields and stop at a local cellar to taste the fruit of the vine grown on the area's unique terrain. Return to the ship.
