Nature lovers will thrill to a day spent admiring the scenic splendor of Iwate. Settle in for a one-hour drive to Ryusen-do Cave, one of Japan's three greatest limestone caves and a designated natural treasure. Explore the brilliant blue underground lakes as well as the unique stalactite and stalagmite formations and the rare long-eared bats that call it home. Continue via a road that passes the tsunami remains of Taro Kanko Hotel to photograph Sannoiwa Rocks, three huge ancient boulders that jut out over the Sanriku coastal area. Pause for a raw seafood rice bowl local lunch, then take a stroll along Jodogahama Beach, designated as a national scenic spot in 2012. At the boat dock, board the Jodogahama cruise for a scenic ride along the Sanriku shoreline. Conclude with a stop at the Jodogahama Visitors Center to learn about the area's exquisite natural beauty and history. Return to port.
特記事項:
The cave's year-round temperature is approx. 10°C so you may need an extra jacket. Please wear comfortable shoes for walking on a cave, ground is wet and slippy. Need to negotiate 310 steps and 700 m each way. Since Ryusendo is a 'living' cave, some water always drips from the cave roof. When it rains, the ground is more slippy than usual. Currently the cave is one way to avoid close contacts and guest will use the temporary exit which requires you to climb 60 steps. This condition may be lifted depending on the covid-19 situation. This condition also applies during the peak season to avoid congestion(end of April to Beginning of May and mid-August).You will walk 10 mins with 90 steps to the Sannoiwa Rocks from the parking lot.
The tour order may vary. Japanese Yen is required for additional purchases.
