Hiking Along the Varden Path

Get some exercise and see the sights on this energetic half-day adventure that hikes Varden Path and visits the Romsdal Museum. Begin the day with a motorcoach ride through the city's commercial district to Varden Viewpoint, learning about Molde's history and enjoying the local sights. At the trailhead, you'll embark on an approximately 60-minute moderate to strenuous hike, primarily downhill, through wooded scenery and along gravel trails. Your efforts are rewarded with stellar views of landscapes, the cityscape of Molde, the Nordic fjord, the many small islands that dot the waterway, and the snowy mountain peaks. Upon reaching the Romsdal Open-Air Museum, enjoy a traditional snack of a Norwegian pancake and a hot beverage, then explore the fascinating collection of authentic Norwegian structures, architecture and culture. Right behind the museum, you'll enjoy views from Reknes Hill before returning to the pier on foot, passing some Molde highlights along the way.
