California often conjures images of natural beauty and unique landscapes, and this beautiful tour will be a feast for the senses as you enjoy a drive down the central coastline to Big Sur. Visitors love the rugged coastline, and as the waters of the Pacific crash against the rocks, sea otters, seals and sea lions may be seen bobbing their heads up through forests of floating kelp, or sunning themselves along the beaches. The coastal redwoods await after a scenic view of Bixby Creek Bridge, and nestled in the forest down the natural coastline is a chance to commune with the tallest trees on the planet. After time for a short walk, head north again to one of the state's most up and coming wine producing regions, which is saying something for California. Carmel Valley is now known for its excellent wine and vineyards, framed by agricultural fields producing much of America's produce. After tasting delicious wines, and a tour of the production area, you'll have a chance for lunch at local restaurants in the valley, before returning to Monterey with visions of Kerouac and Steinbeck, and a sense of wonder at the golden west.
