Discover the culture of the Ainu, Hokkaido's aboriginal people. You'll visit National Ainu Museum and Park, features a preserved village. You'll begin aboard your motorcoach and travel through rolling, forested countryside. You'll arrive at National Ainu Museum and Park, also called Upopoy. ("Upopoy" meaning "Singing together in a large group" in the Ainu language). After a brief orientation, you're free to explore on your own. As you tour the huts and other buildings, you'll learn of the Ainu history. Don't miss the museum filled with artifacts and art. You'll also be treated to several live performances, including an Ainu people's demonstrating the art of storytelling, and native songs and traditional dances performed by village women. Your cultural experience comes to an end as you re-board your motorcoach for the scenic ride back through the city to Muroran and your ship.
