Dramatic Shikotsu-Toya National Park offers an up-close volcanic observation experience like no other. A motorcoach ride takes you to the Nishiyama Crater Trail in Shikotsu-Toya National Park where you'll walk along a wooden boardwalk surveying the lava damage done by Mt. Usu's eruption in 3月 2000. Continue on to Lake Toya, a large caldera more than 26 miles in diameter. Board a boat cruise and circle around this tranquil, picture-perfect lake enjoying the spectacular views. The boat takes you to an island of the lake where you can also enjoy walking in the forest (weather permitted). Then, drive to Mount Usu. Towering 2,404 feet above sea level, it's one of the most active volcanoes in Japan. Enjoy a Japanese-style lunch before taking a gondola ride along a ropeway to the summit, where several observation decks offer a variety of panoramic vistas. Relax on a scenic ride back to port.

Carry local currency for purchases. After the gondola ride up Mt. Usu, guests may climb 136 stairs to the mountain's observatory(optional). Wear comfortable, low-heeled walking shoes. This tour involves stair climbing at Nishiyama Craters and is not recommended for passengers with limited mobility. The volcanic eruptions cannot be seen these days.詳細
