Take a step back in time at the Tokugawa Art Museum, whose priceless collection was donated by a direct descendant of the first Tokugawa shogun who united Japan in the 17th century. Built on the grounds of the family's former feudal residence, the 85-year-old museum boasts nine designated National Treasure items, 59 Important Cultural Properties, and 46 Important Art Objects. Exhibition rooms are dedicated to the symbols of the samurai warrior (elaborate and fierce-looking armor, powerful katana swords, ornate saddles and stirrups), the tea ceremony, a formal chamber filled with personal objects and furnishings from the daimyo lord's residence, a recreated Noh theater, and the renowned 11th century "Tale of Genji" scroll. Adjacent to the museum are the tranquil gardens. For over 320 years, the garden has delighted those who have strolled past the koi pond, around the ever-blooming trees and flowers and a dramatic waterfall. Before returning to your ship, you will have a photo stop of Nagoya Castle.

特記事項:

If the main building of Nagoya Castle is covered for renovation, the tour will visit Kinshachi Yokocho Street as an alternative photo stop.
