まずは日本海に面する最も高いビルである万代島ビルの地上約125mに位置するばかうけ展望室から新潟を360度見渡すことから始まります。日本海、佐渡島、五頭山麓などの大パノラマをお楽しみください。次に新潟市地域の歴史についてわかりやすく紹介している新潟市歴史博物館みなとぴあを見学します。その後は地元レストランでへぎそばのランチをお楽しみいただきます。すぐ近くには特産品を揃えたバザール館がありますのでお土産物のお買い物もお楽しみいただけます。最後に明治期の豪農の館、北方文化博物館へ向かいます。７段にも組まれた梁や長さ30ｍの天然絞りの杉が使用された丸桁など職人の技術や部材の見どころがあります。また巨大な書院造の大広間棟とそこからの庭園の景色など見どころがたくさんあります。
