Yahiko Shrine & Teradomari Fish Market

Celebrate Niigata's colorful sights and sounds beginning with a tour of Yahiko Shrine. With your guide in the lead, you'll walk through the 27 Meters-high Torii gate flanked by two guardian lion-dogs. Set against the backdrop of blue sky, cedar trees and 2,080-foot-tall Mt. Yahiko, you're sure to be mesmerized by your serene surroundings. From here, you'll proceed to Teradomari Beach, a popular spot for swimming and sunning. Opposite the beach is Fish Market Street, known for its seafood restaurants and markets. Enjoy free time to mingle with the locals and sit down to lunch (the smell of grilled seafood skewers from the storefronts will stimulate your appetite!). Recharged, you'll board your coach for a sightseeing drive up scenic Yahiko Skyline to the top of Mt. Yahiko. At the summit stands the Panorama Tower, whose rotating and elevating observatory boasts magnificent 360-degree views of Sado Island.
