Grab your binoculars and set off on an adventure that explores the wildlife habitats of Orkney, home to an astonishing range of bird life. Relax on a motorcoach drive through idyllic countryside to Birsay Moors, The Royal Society for the Protection of Bird's largest nature reserve on the Orkney Mainland. Explore this moorland landscape and keep your camera focused for sightings of red-throated divers, high-speed merlins, hen harriers and curlews, known for their lively song. Continue along the west coast to Marwick Head RSPB nature reserve. This rugged landscape supports the largest cliff-nesting seabird colony atop its red sandstone cliffs. Walk the 1.25 -mile (2 -km) route that makes the most of the spectacular vistas. On your return to port, pass the ceremonial Ring of Brodgar, one of the earliest henges built in the British Isles, a perfect circle of megaliths and part of the Neolithic Orkney World Heritage Site.
