Experience Roatan's fascinating history on an engaging cultural adventure that takes you off the beaten path to some heritage sites on the island. Settle in for a motorcoach drive along the rugged east side of the island and enjoy several scenic photo stops before arriving at the Garifuna Village of Punta Gorda, an authentic immersion experience celebrating the heritage of the indigenous Garifuna people. Watch a traditional dance, explore three replica huts and taste local treats. Proceed to Oak Ridge to snap a picture of this fishing village, then proceed to The Buccaneer, a celebration of French Harbour life. The onsite History Center traces 1,500 years of human presence in the archipelago, charming promenade, and you are welcome to swim in the saltwater Splash Lagoon (wear swimsuit under clothes). A jam tasting is offered in support of local students. Return to port at the conclusion of this captivating day.
