A private train whisks you from port into the heart of the Eternal City and St. Peter's Square, gateway to all the attractions, sights and wonders of Rome. The day is yours to enjoy as you please at your own pace. Take in all the magnificent sights you have dreamt of visiting, or simply enjoy a quiet lunch in an authentic trattoria and a stroll through the boutiques for souvenirs and exquisite leather goods. Photo opportunities abound around every corner. The hop on & hop off bus system (add-on option available) allows you to maneuver through town like a local and puts all the historic landmarks within easy reach. Remember, you will need local currency so plan to exchange your money onboard or at the currency exchange in the city. At the end of your approximately 6.5 hour day, return to the designated meeting spot and enjoy a relaxing, express train ride back to port.

This tour is not available to passengers beginning or ending their voyage in Civitavecchia (Rome).The train journey between Civitavecchia and Rome is approximately one hour each way, subject to traffic conditions. This tour is not recommended to passengers using a wheelchair.
There are approx 50 steps to negotiate from the platform at St. Peter's Station to the exit.
Depending on local conditions and in case of any technical inconvenience passengers booked on this tour might be reprotected on tour coaches and transferred to Rome by coach.
Please be aware that Basilica might close for security reasons at any given time without advance notice. Proper attire that covers shoulders and legs must be worn by both men and women in St. Peter's Basilica - mini-skirts, shorts and capri pants are not acceptable. In addition visitors are often required to check large bags, video cameras and bottled water at a desk. You might encounter considerable crowds, lines and delays at the St. Peter's Basilica and other venues.
Flash photos are not permitted in the Vatican Museum. Photography and video are not permitted at all in the Sistine Chapel.
Please be aware that ongoing restoration work is often being carried out at the various venues visited.
Euros are required for entrance fees; Euros and/or credit cards are recommended in retail and dining venues; change your money onboard the ship or at a currency exchange in Rome.
Lunch and entrance fees are not included.
On Sundays and public holidays the majority of the shops will be closed - only souvenir shops will be open.
Guests must be able to negotiate the steps of the motorcoach, train and at the Train Station (approximately 50 steps).
This tour is not available for voyages ending in Rome.
