Your adventure begins when you board your air-conditioned motorcoach and ride to Sitka National Historical Park. Follow your guide for a walk along the paths lined with totem poles to the visitor center where you'll see ancient artifacts. Next, experience authentic Tlingit Native stories and songs inside a modern rendition of a traditional clan-style house. After gathering around a central fire pit you'll watch a mesmerizing performance as you hear a drum echo through the large room. Then, enjoy a brief sightseeing tour of Sitka. Pass many of the Russian and American sites including the beautifully restored Russian Bishop's House, St. Michael's Russian Orthodox Cathedral, both of which date back to the days when Sitka was the Russian colonial capital, and the WWII-era Fort Ray Historic District. Later, you may return to your ship or explore downtown Sitka on your own where you can enjoy a self-guided tour of St. Michael's Cathedral.
