Drive to old Lokken Mine, where you will receive a short orientation, and be provided with a hard-hat for your half-mile walk through the mine. You will navigate gravel paths, steps and wooden walkways as you absorb the atmosphere in the mine, which was in operation from 1654 to 1987. Visit the museum with exhibitions of the old mining history. There are also time to check out the vintage trains on display or spend some time browsing the museum shop. Head to your lunch buffet at the traditional Bardshaug Mansion before your next photo stop, the Nidaros Cathedral. Building of this cathedral begun in 1070, and believers come here to drink from the well that sprang up next to their Saint's grave. Return to port through Melhus, with its fertile land and farms.
