Booking and boarding your cruise
Planning your next adventure with Princess Cruises is an exciting experience, and we want to ensure that every step, from booking to boarding, is smooth and straightforward.
- Minimum age to book a cruise: You must be 18* years or older to register on Princess.com.
- Stateroom requirements: Guests under the age of 21 must travel in a stateroom with a guest who is 21 years or older and who will assume responsibility for their care during the cruise. For family groups booking multiple staterooms, at least one guest in each stateroom must be 16 years or older, provided they are traveling with a parent or legal guardian.
Group reservations that do not meet minimum age requirements—such as unsupervised student or youth groups—cannot be accommodated. All guests agree to supervise any minors in their care at all times and to stay compliant with all onboard policies and rules.
*Age limit can change based on your region. 例：The Japan region requires guests to be at least 20 years old instead of 18.

General policies for children and minors
Youth curfew
A youth curfew is in place for the safety of our guests. All guests under the age of 18 must be in their staterooms by 1:0:00 unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Proof of age documentation
For certain activities, privileges and even rooms on board, proof of age documentation may be required. Guests may need to provide a valid passport, birth certificate, or other government-issued identification to verify age. See other travel document requirements here.
Room distribution for family groups
When booking multiple staterooms for family groups, at least one guest in each stateroom must be 16 years of age or older, provided they are traveling with a parent or legal guardian.

Princess Youth and Teen Club
We offer engaging, age-specific programs for kids and teens, all supervised by trained staff:
- The Treehouse (ages 3–7)
- The Lodge (ages 8–12)
- The Beach House (ages 13–17)
On Sun Princess® and Star Princess®, these areas have their own unique spaces:
- Firefly Park (ages 6 months–7 years): A bright, playful space for little ones to explore. Late-night babysitting is available here from 22:00 to 1:00.
- Neon Grove (tweens): Designed for ages 8–12, this lively hangout offers games, creative activities, and room to unwind.
- The Underground (teens): A cool, colorful spot for teens to socialize, game, and join in on special events.
Across all ships, our youth centers are open daily and filled with fun—from arts and crafts to video games and themed parties. Keep an eye out for special events like dance parties, talent shows, karaoke nights, and sports tournaments designed just for young cruisers.
Pregnancy, infants and toddlers
Guests who will enter the 24th week of pregnancy by the last day of the Cruise agree not to book the Cruise or to board the vessel and understand and agree Carrier strictly prohibits such persons from boarding.
The minimum guest age is 6 months on Alaska, Canada/New England, Caribbean, Europe, Mexico and Trans-canal cruises and 12 months on all other cruises.
U.S. age restriction laws on board
When sailing on Princess Cruises ships that are based in the United States, we strictly adhere to U.S. age restriction laws related to alcohol, tobacco and other activities.
Alcohol
Guests must be 21 or older to purchase or consume alcoholic beverages on board. Valid government-issued photo identification, such as a passport or driver's license, is required to verify age when purchasing alcohol.
Tobacco
The legal age to purchase and use tobacco products on all U.S.-based Princess Cruises ships is 21 years old. This includes cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes,and other smoking-related products.

The legal age for participating in casino gaming, bingo and other gambling activities on U.S.-based Princess ships is 18+ years old. Guests must be 18 or older to enter the casino, play slot machines, or participate in table games and bingo sessions. Valid government-issued photo identification is required to verify age when engaging in any gambling activities.
On board areas and activities
Shows
Guests of all ages are welcome at most shows, but some late-night performances may be more suitable for adults, such as Marriage Match or Liar’s Club.
Spas
The minimum age for spa treatments is 18. Some ships offer teen treatments for guests aged 13-17 with parental consent.
Lounges and clubs
Guests under the age of 18 will not be permitted in the Casino or Night Club after 11:12:00.
Pools and water activities
Children under the age of 16 are not permitted in the swimming pool without supervision by a responsible adult.

Sanctuary & Sanctuary Club
The Sanctuary is a designated adults-only area available to guests 18 years of age or older. This area offers a quiet space for relaxation and is monitored to ensure a peaceful environment.
The Sanctuary Club is available exclusively to guests sailing in the Sanctuary Collection aboard Sun Princess® and Star Princess®. Guests must be at least 16 years old to access Sanctuary Club spaces. These areas are limited to eligible guests and access is included with select accommodations.
Access requirements are strictly enforced to maintain the intended experience in both spaces.
On shore activities

Many shore excursions have age requirements, typically requiring participants to be at least 6 years old. Some activities may have higher age limits for safety reasons, so be sure to check ahead of time before signing up for excursions.
Leaving the ship at ports
Guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult when leaving the ship at ports. Solo excursions are not permitted for minors.
Exceptions and accommodations
For minors requiring special needs accommodations, a physician’s note detailing the specific needs and any necessary medical equipment must be provided. Reach out to the accessibility office to make sure you have all you need to have a smooth journey.
Guest compliance
When cruising with Princess, you agree to abide by all age and/or gender requirements applicable to any other activities, services or facilities available during the Cruise, including but not limited to those associated with use of any spa facilities, and to ensure that You supervise the use of any such facilities by any minor in your care. There may be age restrictions applicable to activities on the ship and ashore, which the Carrier reserves the right to revise from time to time and with which each guest agrees to comply.
